About Us I've been around the block a few times since I first took up camping, having started when I was about 15 years old. This was more than 40 years ago. At that time money was short and much of the camping equipment that was available then was bought from ex-Army and Navy surplus stores. My first tent was an ex-army 5 man tent, basic, to say the least. That being said I was very lucky. I set off with a friend and off we went camping. I say I was lucky. What I actually meant was that even though we had very little money we were young and the weather was kind. We thoroughly loved it. I've continued camping ever since. What I did learn in my first years of camping was that lack of preparation doesn't always make for a happy holiday. I have seen some really uncomfortable situations experienced by less than lucky newbie campers who didn't take home happy memories. It was the unfortunate things I've seen that prompted me to start a series of articles on the subject of 'camping for newbies'. One of these articles can be viewed at http://www.squidoo.com/camping_for_newbies I decided to use my experience to assist both newbie and experienced campers to make the very most of their camping experience. I really am happy to help.
Regards and good camping Enjoy your stay here, Stu Haynes, http://www.best-camping-stoves.com
